SCR compressor conference: conferring the benefits
“It was eye-opening, especially the future products. There were plenty of questions being asked.”
SCR’s recent conference in Solihull proved to be a fantastic forum for our distributors (old and new).
“Mike Knowles’ presentation and industry knowledge was absolutely second to none. He clearly is the guru for compressed air sales in the UK, and if he wasn’t so successful in his current role he’d make a fortune teaching salesmen in the UK how to really cut the mustard!”
Held at the National Motorcycle Museum—an extensive & informative venue—the conference provided an insight into the new products being launched by SCR, and the enhanced energy savings they provide. SCR engineers were on hand to discuss the advances in technology and the strides made since SCR and the Japanese firm, Anest Iwata, merged. Competitor analysis showed that the SCR product range, in tandem with the high level of support from the factory, was enabling distributors to revitalise their businesses – and improve their margins.
Commented long-standing SCR distributor, ReddiAir Compressors Ltd: “The PM2 range has been a huge success for us and is, in our opinion, a great door opener to bigger customers”. Added others: “We are seriously considering investing in some equipment which could give us the edge in winning new orders by illustrating the energy savings which could be made with a new machine against an older unit. As energy saving is a big thing in the UK, and in Europe, we are confident that we should be able to put ourselves in a better position with new enquiries.”
SCR partners from Europe were also in attendance, demonstrating how they have grown the market for SCR compressors in their home countries over the last decade. Over 40,000 SCR compressors are now installed worldwide. And the market for air compressors continues to grow (in part driven by the advances in compressor capabilities) with a global compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.47% anticipated until 2023*, with the scope of application expanding into the petrochemical, packaging and refrigeration industries. Good news for UK distributors as the SCR supply chain will hold strong through whatever Brexit holds.
The summing up is best left to one of the newest members of the SCR family: “Thanks again for last week. I had a terrific time. It really has opened my eyes to the tremendous future we all have being involved with SCR. I could never imagine that you could get so much help and advice from a great group of lads.” *Allied Market Research statistics
